While there is a wider acceptance of sex work in the society, state policies are still attempting to clamp down and regulate the sex industry.
We speak to Ava Caradonna a sex worker with over 5 years of experience, who campaigns for the rights of sex workers and believes Harriet Harman's crusade against sex adverts and Fiona McTaggart's proposals to criminalise the purchase of sex are short-sighted, back-stabbing measures to drive sex underground and make them feel comfortable.
